Hi, my name is Micah

I’m an
Interactive and motion desiger

I am a California-born, Utah-based graphic designer with 20+ years experience as a professional. I’m specialize in web and motion design but I’ve done projects in nearly every area of design. In the projects I do, I my highest priority is on honing in on the project objectives and tailoring the message to the specific audience. I apply unconventional and affective solutions to problems, create unforgettable visuals, and construct intuitive experiences.

Pleas have a look at some of the work I’m most proud of.

web and interactive

If you don’t have a web presence today you essentially don’t exist. Having an intuitive and memorable web experience is essential to any business’s success.

I’ve designed hundreds of webpages and dozens of websites over my career. I’ve worked on everything from Ecommerce to corporate sites. I’ve also worked on other interactive projects designing apps, interactive interfaces & experiences, and digital promotional materials.

Motion

Motion has become one of the most important contemporary design mediums. Static design doesn’t have an impact on a viewer or user the way motion does. Motion engages like no other medium, because it can more easily capture our attention, aid in communication, and help to guide us through interactive experiences.

Motion is the design medium I’m currently most excited about. I’ve been doing motion projects since the early 2000’s and I’m now realizing how much I enjoy creating something that is as engaging and powerful as motion work can be.

Identity

The importance of company’s identity cannot be over-emphasized. It is your outward-facing image to the public. It’s essential to represent yourself in a way the best communicates your personality and values as a business.

Identities can be one of the most challenging but enjoyable types of design projects. I like working closely with businesses to create the visual elements that best represent the characteristics that describe their brand.

print

Designing for print feels important because it’s more permanent than the ephemeral nature of the digital work we see daily. It’s easier to relate to physical object since you can hold it and interact with if. In a way physical media has become more precious over time.

I’ve designed books, posters, t-shirts, flyers, brochures, and packaging and it’s always exciting to see the final product.

When I’m not doing professional work I like doing my own projects. I just like to making all types of things. My work goes in all directions from digital art to practical design like posters and t-shirts.
